Our Work

  • Solar Farms

A solar farm is a large-scale solar power system that sells power to a service utility. IOTR Energy is an RE developer specializing in deploying solar farm systems that are 100KW or more in capacity, that can either directly supply the energy to a sector, a business or an energy utility provider.

IOTR Energy is currently working with TAU, the local utility service provider in the Cook Islands to install, operate and maintain 1.2MW of power generation in the form of solar farms. This is part of the 4W Renewable Energy programme that TAU launched in October 2022.

TAU has plans to introduce more solar generation onto its grid in the coming years and will offer opportunities for landowners with vacant sites to work with IOTR Energy on Solar Farm projects.

  • Home and Business Solar Systems

These solar systems converts sunlight into electricity, using solar photovoltaic (PV) panels that are positioned toward the sun. They work by harnessing light energy (photons) to produce an electric current.

These PV systems that are ideal for homes and businesses that currently pay $200 to $2,000 a month for power. Our PV Systems can help reduce these costs. IOTR Energy can install, operate and maintain these PV systems for you, at no upfront cost to you - giving you solar energy at a lower cost than the mains power.

These PV systems are fully supported by IOTR Energy within its operational agreements that includes 24/7 customer service and equipment warranties.

  • EV and EV Charging Stations

As world transitions from vehicles that have Internal Combustion Engines and run on fossil fuels, to Electrical Vehicles that run on grid power, IOTR Energy is leading the charge to make this happen in the Pacific.

EVs is a fast growing market but without a supporting local eco-system it will continue to struggle as a viable transport solution for our communities in the Pacific. IOTR Energy has plans to develop such an ecosystem by investing in the local supply chain and ancillary services.

IOTR Energy will not only bring in fleets of EVs but also the fast charging infrastructure it needs to support customer uptake and satisfaction. These fast charging stations will all be tied and supported by PV solar systems.

Solar Farms.

IOTR Energy is currently working with TAU, the local utility service provider in the Cook Islands to install, operate and maintain 1.2MW of power generation in the form of solar farms. This is part of the 4W Renewable Energy programme that TAU launched in October 2022.

These solar farms have the ability to supply a cheaper energy source to the energy generation mix of the Cook Islands and at the same time lessen the dependency on the higher cost fossil fuel generated power. The current power tariffs to consumers on the main island of Rarotonga are some of the highest in the Pacific to date and the actual cost of recovery for TAU itself is likely to be much higher. IOTR Energy, in supplying TAU with cheaper solar generated energy, will over time, can only translate to lower power prices for the end consumer and a more profitable energy utility.

TAU has plans to introduce more solar generated power and IOTR Energy through its solar farms is committed to further support these initiatives. In doing so, we are after suitable leasehold lands that can cater to systems that are 100 plus KW - a typical 1/4 acre site or more will work. The lease will be for a term of 30 years with the option to renew. At the end of the term, the sites will be returned to the landowners in its natural state.

Solar Farms are ideal for landowners that have vacant sites and wishing to generate some income in the medium term before looking at more long term developments for the site.

Residential and Commercial Solar Systems.

Residential and Commercial Solar Systems are fast becoming an accepted feature on top of rooftops, carparks and any vacant space that can cater to PV panels. Not only are the unit costs of these technologies are coming down but the technology itself continues to make improvements for greater efficiencies.

IOTR Energy, has designed its own ‘plug and play’ systems that can cater to households and businesses that currently pay $200 to $2,000 per month in power costs making potential savings of $20,000 to $180,000 over the 25-30 year life span of these systems.

IOTR Energy will not only install and operate these systems at no upfront cost to customers but all repair/replacement parts will be covered within its operational agreements. These agreements will have an option for early termination and the buy-out of these systems. In the long term, outright ownership and buy-out options may be appealing to some owners. However, it is a more hands on approach to power generation and lacks the technical support/back up warranty that an IOTR Energy operational agreement can offer. These packages are designed for a great customer experience, connivence and value for money.

EV and EV Charging Stations.

Electric vehicles (EV) are fast becoming a dominant form of personal transportation and world wide it continues to grow at pace. Each year the technology is advancing at lightening speed and prices continue to tumble, matching the prices of ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) vehicles. In addition, the big car makers are continuously releasing new EV models each year, with less new models of ICE vehicles.

IOTR Energy is excited with these developments and has developed concepts to deploy EVs in the Pacific supported by fast charging EV stations. These EV charging stations will be fully supported by PV solar facilities, easing the burden on the main energy grid for power. The aim is to create an ecosystem that supports the deployment of EVs and its potential growth opportunities.
